Watching the Stars Go Out

Watching the Stars Go Out is a piece for Violin, Flute and Prepared piano. It was written during Ensemble Offspring’s residency at the ANU School of Music in 2016. The piece moves slowly through three different textural sections inspired by ruminations on the end of the world. The piece situates the listener in a situation were at the end of time there is little left to do, except watch the stars go out.
